Thousand Island's Cruise Stockholm's Archipelago July 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th, 2007
This is a true, full-day excursion in the Stockholm archipelago, the best way to experience Stockholm’s unique geographical wonder. On board the ship you’ll enjoy delicious meals and a stunning view of glittering bays, small rocky islands and green-shimmering skerries. There’ll be time to see both the inner and outer archipelagos, and to stop at the islands of Kymmendö, Bullerö and Sandhamn. The on-board guide will tell us all about this wondrous bit of natural history – a place unlike anywhere else in the world. The wonder will start the moment you board the turn of century vessel, M/S Waxholm III. Begin the day with a cup of coffee while our guide/hostess welcomes us aboard. Kymmendo: Our first stop is in Kymmendö, before the large Scandinavianlunch buffet is served. Here our guide tells us about the history of the island and one of Sweden's best known authors – Strindberg. Bullerö: Our next port of call is the island of Bullerö in the outer-archipelago, a favorite source of inspiration for Swedish painters. Sandhamn: Naturally we pay a visit to Sandhamn, the sailors’ paradise. Her you can join the guide for a promenade before the dinner is served onboard on our return to Stockholm. During the trip you’ll have several opportunities to go for a swim or sunbathe on sandy beaches or smooth seaside rocks. The weather in the archipelago is usually better than in the city; don’t forget your swimming suit!
Included: Cruise journey, luncheon buffet, dinner, coffee and guided tours Departure is from Nybrokajen in central Stockholm at 9:30 am. Return to Stockholm at 8:30 pm. Transfer to embarkation pier on your own. Please be sure to inform us of which day you wish to take the cruise. Price: $159 per person.
